Why visit Lanusei?
With its mild and temperate climate, healthy air and fairytale scenic landscapes, Lanusei has now gained a prime position as a holiday resort in Sardinia, not just because of its historic and natural treasures but also for the intense cultural life that takes place in certain periods of the year. For example on the first Sunday in June, the town’s Patron Saint San Giovanni Bosco is honoured with religious ceremonies, sporting events and poetry competitions. Or again the celebrations in honour of the Saints Cosma and Damiano held between 20thAugust and 27th September with processions, food and traditional dancing.

Splendid old buildings, neat squares, a breathtaking scenic backdrop; Lanusei, the capital of the Province of Ogliastra, is located in the east of Sardinia on the ridges between Mount Gennargentu and the coast, and betwixt the green of the hinterland and the deep-blue sea.

Lanusei enjoys a magnificent position set in the midst of natural wonders and easily-reachable sites of great tourist and cultural interest.

The inhabited centre develops around the seat of the diocese, the Cathedral of Santa Maria Maddalena, dating back to 1860 but founded in the seventeenth century. On the outside we find the excellent cycle of frescos dedicated to the life of Mary Magdalene and Christ, completed in 1927 by Mario Delitala, one of the leading exponents of Sardinian painting of the XX century.

A short drive takes the visitor to the beaches on the coast of Ogliastra, to the Gennargentu mountains or to the lakes, rivers and grottoes of the region.

At a distance of 18 minutes drive from the village, south of Lanusei, you will find the village Cardedu, beautiful pearl white sandy beaches of kilometers in length and a unique and crystal clear azure sea.

The fine beaches are interspersed with impressive rock parties. Further south of Cardedu, you will find more and more varied beautiful beaches, with relatively deep water, including Coccorocci 'n Planargia, while north of Cardedu direction BariSardo, Tortolì, Arbatax, Santa Maria Navarre .....
are particularly beautiful beaches.
... .. Here and there you will meet some dolphins, if you got lucky they'll have a little swim with you.

The “Trenino verde” railway unwinds from Lanusei up to the suggestive heights of Pizzi Cuccu and Su Carmu from where one can admire the breathtaking landscapes of the Ogliastra valley. The territory includes the hilly hinterland and mountainous area between 150m and 1300m of Monte Selene, Monte Tricoli and Monte Armidda.

Lanusei, a small hilly town renowned for its invigorating healthy climate, Lanusei is set as an amphitheatre dominating a valley, the coast and the sea. Surrounded by a forest of oaks, it also enjoys a privileged central position and can make its own resources and those of neighbouring villages readily available to tourists.

It is the most important town for culture in Ogliastra, seat of the diocese and the religious college of the Salesiani, the law court and also the hospital. It has a wealth of cultural centres: museums, churches and monuments testify its resplendent past.

Worth mentioning is the Astrological Observatory “F. Caliumi”, open to the public, situated on the top of Monte Armidda, an ideal location, free from light pollution. Complementary to the Observatory is the Grammar School Planetarium, also open to the public.

Ogliastra is a verdant region in the Province of Nuoro . Come to visit this region and you’ll enjoy unforgettable moments. In summer it offers the nicest sea in the world , but , out of the bathing season it may gives its most exciting surprises . The house CASA ROSA is located in Barisardo , a village known for its famous Saracen Tower on a long white beach and its small square , bordered by the portico of the fine hotel La Torre and a nice pine-wood .

Near Lanusei you find the small town of Barisardo, with its seaside resort, a pleasant place because its beaches are sheltered from the wind and well equipped. Far from city strife and scarcely populated, its countryside opens onto picturesque landscapes in which the solemn silence allows the tourist to approach a world that is still primordial.


The natural environment , the flora and fauna of such places takes shapes, forms and colours hardly encountered elsewhere in Europe . To these features , unusual yet pleasing, we attribute the undeniable touristic success of our region.

From Dorgali to Marina di Gairo , begins one of the most most majestical coastal scenes of all the Mediterranean. Everywhere rocky outcrops stand out, followed by long white beaches , surrounded by the infinite patches of Mediterranean bush.

Back to the Orientale road, almost straight away, there is one more detour to Triei; just before the village, about 4 km. further, an asphalted road leads to the plateau of Osini, which is rich in natural springs. Here you can see the Royal eagle, vultures and hawks, and visit a well-preserved.

Over de verhuurder

Beste mensen, Mijn naam is Gianni Franceschi, geboren in Lanusei Sardinië. Sinds 1976 in Nederland en in dienst van Dow Benelux in Terneuzen. Nu al 36 jaar samen met mijn lieve vrouw Hanneke. Vanaf 1999, naast mijn eigen werk; begonnen met het verhuren van een aantal woningen van familie en van goede vrienden aan de Oostkust van Sardinië.
De eigenaar ter plaatse zal u verwelkomen met een open hart. Heb wel zelf alle verantwoordelijkheid tussen u beiden, voor een goede verloop van uw vakantie

Toelichting op de prijzen
The marked weekly rate is meant for two persons. An additional third, fourth or fifth person is welcome, but has an extra charge to pay of €25 per week.

Payment Terms: Within 7 days after receiving our confirmation on your booking request you've to pay 30% of the total rent deposit. On arrival at your vacation home, the balance due has to be paid to the owner.

Cancellation 9 months to three weeks time before arriving 30% of the total rent payable. If canceled less than the above term is 50% of the total rent payable.

Regarding a withdrawal of your booking in case of serious illness, we can make an agreement that only 15% of the total amount will be paid from your side. Although when demonstrable with an authentic and signed medical certificate (no copies), which can be sent to us for further verification.

Vervoer Sardinie

Vervoer Sardinië Veel grote Europese maatschappijen vliegen op Sardinië, waaronder het Sardijnse Meridiana en de Italiaanse luchtvaartmaatschappij Alitalia. Ook zijn er in de zomermaanden veel chartervluchten naar het eiland, vaak tegen goedkope tarieven of als onderdeel van een verzorgde reis. Het aantal vluchten hangt af van het seizoen, waarbij er in de zomer veel meer chartervluchten zijn. Wanneer er geen directe of geschikte verbindingen zijn, verzorgen Alitalia en Meridiana binnenlandse vluchten van de grote Italiaanse steden naar het eiland. Er varen ook veel auto- en passagiersveren van het Italiaanse vasteland naar Sardinië. Langzame veren bieden overnachtingsfaciliteiten aan.. de snellere en duurdere veerboten zijn vaak tweemaal zo snel. Tijdens het hoogseizoen in juli en augustus is het moeilijk een plaatsje te vinden op passagiers- en vooral autoveren, dus zorg ervoor dat u ruim van tevoren een plaats heeft gereserveerd.Veel van de wegen op Sardinië worden gekenmerkt door grote aantallen bochten, die vervelend zijn wanneer u haast heeft, maar aangenaam wanneer u op vakantie bent en de tijd heeft om van het landschap te genieten. Met uitzondering van enige grote wegen, zoals de N131 die de vier hoeken van het eiland met elkaar verbindt, kronkelen de wegen over de heuvels en door vlakten, zodat u voldoende tijd moet nemen, al is er maar weinig verkeer. De verlaten wegen zijn natuurlijk zeer geschikt voor fietsers.

We kwamen aan om 3 uur 'snachts in Lanusei en mevrouw Tiziana stond op ons te wachten. Dat alleen maakt de waardering tot n 10! verder een prachtig huis met alles wat je nodig hebt en een bijzonder mooi land. De foto's spreken voor zich en laten niks aan de verbeelding over! zeker een aanrader en Tiziana.. Enorm bedankt!! We zullen dit nooit vergeten!

2010

We zaten een weekje in Lanusei in december. Een heel hartelijk ontvangst door Tiziana en Giorgio in het Engels, en een fles wijn als welkom. Met een korte en nuttige rondleiding door het bergstadje. Een rustig appartement, vlakbij het centrum. Van alle gemakken voorzien. We hebben heerlijk gewandeld en op de warmere dagen op het balkonnetje gezetten.

Geweldige vakantie gehad, verzorgd appartement, volledig uitgerust en hoog zomer zijn de airco en balkon een must. Kookuitrusting matig. Afstanden naar het strand prima te doen; Ogliastra is een prachtig gebied. Zeer centraal om het eiland per auto te verkennen. Met Il Trenino Verde nog op stap geweest: aanrader voor kinderen.
TIP; ga niet eten in Sadali bij Il Iliano, erg slecht en erg duur.
